George H. Miley’s Vision

Too bad that the Dick Smith price expired.  This brain child of George H. Miley seem almost custom designed to pass the Dick Smith test with flying colors. He is entering the commercial LENR field with a bold vision for a LENR reactor, as has been reported at the various LENR sites (e.g. here were I stole above schematics).

So is this finally a serious contender, or just the latest attempt to get some investor money before the LENR believer bubble deflates?

  1. A suggestion for the e-catworld.com crowd. – Following up your “big” success in supporting the George Mileys LENR petition (347 votes in total) and the “we the people” LENR petition (currently 684 votes, only 99316 more to go), why not start a campaign to speed up the e-cat certification?
Mr. Acland could ask Rossi on JONP: “Who is the organisation/group/person (UL?) in charge to release the e-cat safety certificate”, and all of the customers who pre-ordered e-cats (according Rossi: half a million, status July 2012) could send those certifiers an e-mail, urging them to speed up their work…

  2. It does indeed look good.

However, I’m sure we all recall Miley claimed to have devices producing “hundreds of Watts”, and talked about using his device to power deep-space probes (requiring that power level for years or even decades), and yet when he actually published he only claimed 8 Watts for less than 2 minutes.

If he can produce a real device that performs as claimed, it will be huge. But all we have so far is a drawing and yet another unsubstantiated claim.

Why is Mr. Acland instead only asking Rossi “soft” questions like that one:

    Dear Andrea,

Thank you for the update regarding the conclusion of the 3rd party tests. You mentioned in December they had concluded their tests and then had to do more. Do you know why they need to do so much more testing — are these tests required by the peer reviewers?
I’m just curious, and know many others are, too.
    Many thanks,
    Frank Acland

    Dear Frank Acland:
Yes, the peer reviewers asked for additional tests to confirm the results.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  4. Miley’s claims are full of contradictions and inconsistencies. If he has something worthwhile, he should have it tested independently, just like is suggested for everyone else. I suspect his claims are due to bad measurements.

    1. So you come down in favour of him just trying to cash in?

  5. For what it’s worth, here’s Krivit’s account of his conversations with Miley:

    http://newenergytimes.com/v2/news/2012/Miley-Eight-Watts-for-100-Seconds.shtml

    1. Thanks for the link. No matter what else one may think, Krivit at least is asking the right questions and is doing his homework before an interview.

    2. I read that article previously. But now is the time to ask. Did Miley ever submit a paper to a peer review journal?

Is this another claim by Miley which is speculation based on potentially flawed work?

      1. I don’t understand this as something he has actually done but simply something he’d like to achieve with the help of the grant. As such it is certainly … err…. optimistic – but not really flawed work (yet).

      2. To me the question is if he is pulling a Rossi, i.e. asking for money without showing the goods?
